The POCRC is a cooperative effort among scientists and clinicians to positively impact the outcomes of patients with ovarian cancer and those at risk through early detection, improved treatment, and management. Advocates for ovarian cancer work through the POCRC to bring the patient voice and experience into the research setting and serve as a bridge between the overall scientific program and the community.
This support group meets every Tuesday from 10:30 - 12:00 to discuss treatment issues and options, coping mechanisms, adjusting to changes, stress management, communicating with doctors, family and friends, nutrition, resources, and other subjects. For more information call (206) 215-3659.
The Alliance empowers women and their healthcare providers about the symptoms, risk factors, and recommended action steps to promote the early detection of ovarian and breast cancers. The outreach activities are facilitated by healthcare professionals and trained volunteers. For more information call (206) 417-0823.
The mission of Gilda's Club is to provide a place where people living with cancer, their families, and friends can join others to build social and emotional support as a supplement to medical care.
Team Survivor Northwest provides health education and exercise programs for women affected by cancer in all stages of treatment, recovery, and survivorship.
Cancer Lifeline offers a wide range of programs aimed at optimizing the quality of life for cancer patients and cancer survivors as well as their families, friends, co-workers, and caregivers.
